This is from the '311 Customer Care Center, Los Alamos County' Facebook Page The Open Space and Parks subcommittee of the Parks and Recreation Board will hold its monthly meeting on January 4, 2012 at 5:30 PM in the Pajarito Room at Fuller Lodge. The meeting will focus on the Golf Course Improvements Capital Improvement Project and its possible impacts to the open space and the County Trail Network.
Options include taking no action, improving the course within the existing footprint, and expanding the course to the north and south. Also included in the plans are possible locations for construction of water storage tanks on open space. Two of the options include requirements to relocate sections of the Woodland, East Fork and Walnut Canyon Rim trails. These plans would also require removal of 20 or more acres of ponderosa pine forest. Options for trail realignments will be discussed.
After the presentation, the subcommittee will receive public comment on the proposed options.
